About the city of Adiyaman:
Adiyaman city is a small city and it is one of the cities of Turkey, and it was called (Mansour Fort) located in southeastern Turkey, it was established in 1954, after it was part of the city of "Malatya", and the area of the city is 14,256 km2, It has a population of two million people, historically, it has been inhabited since the first times of human history, and currently the majority of its population is Kurdish nationalism, and it passed through many civilizations that left behind some of its traces, including the Hits, Syriacs, Persians, Alexander of Macedon, Romans, Byzantines, Seljuks, Mamluks and Ottomans.
It is worth mentioning that the city of Adiyaman is the second exporter in Turkey for the manufacture of tobacco.
There are many historical and tourist areas in Adiyaman that attract visitors, including the castle, which was built on an artificial hill in the city center by order of the Umayyad caliph Al-Mansur to defend the city against the attacks of the Byzantines, the "Garci" mosque, the old palace mosque, the Cap Mosque, the fourteenth-century Grand Mosque, the "Göksu" archaeological bridge, and the ruins of the Nimrud Mountains, which are considered one of the eighth wonders in the world, as well as the presence of the remains of the "Kumangana" civilization and the presence of the Ataturk Dam, which is the fourth largest dam In the world, the dam "Cham Gazi", there is also the organization of winter camps.
Adiyaman University was established in 2006 by combining the schools and faculties of İnönü University, Gaziantep University and Harran University within the boundaries of Adiyaman city under one roof.
Adiyaman University consists of 4 campuses, Kahta Campus, Besni Campus and Gölbaşı Campus, with an area of 2 million 287 thousand m2 of total area.
With 13 faculties, 3 institutes, 6 vocational schools and 18 research and application centers, Adiyaman University is home to more than 17,000 students, including many international students.
