About the city of Balikesir:

About Balıkesir University:
The foundation of Balıkesir University dates back to the Karissi School, founded in 1910 with the special interests of the Minister of National Education, this school was moved to the building that operates as the Necatibey College of Education in 1932 and named Necatibey School
The University was established in 1992 and the University consists of 14 colleges and 12 institutes and the colleges are distributed within the campus.
Balıkesir University, with its strong development, also provided the opportunity to establish a modern University within its structure, the academic units of Balıkesir University formed the infrastructure of the University.
